The International Super Modified Association (ISMA) was founded in 1974.
ISMA-MSS's goals were to improve Supermodified racing by enhancing safety, offering more events, ensuring adequate purses, and supporting drivers and teams. The association collaborates with track managers to make decisions and discuss ways to improve the series. This 2026 calendar consists of 12 events contested in 4 States and 1 Canadian Province.
ISMA-MSS has recently introduced a system in which teams purchase a franchise at the beginning of the year. Each franchise team may miss up to 3 events during the race season while being guaranteed a minimum starting purse of $1,000 at each race. ISMA-MSS supermodifieds are the fastest short-track open-wheel race cars in the world. They weigh approximately 1,850 pounds and are powered by methanol-burning, fuel-injected, big-block Chevrolet race engines, which produce 800 to 900 horsepower. An ISMA-MSS supermodified can reach speeds over 130 mph. The tube-frame chassis is equipped with an adjustable air-strut top wing to achieve high cornering speeds. All competitors race on Hoosier tires. Drivers would compete in one of two heat races and a draw to determine the starting line-up for the feature. The finale was a seventy-five-lap contest around Flamboro Speedway’s 0.333-mile semi-banked asphalt oval. The ISMA-MSS Supermodified stop at Flamboro Speedway was the series first visit in over forty years. Race one in the Tammy $10,000 USD Series, presented with support from John and Wendy Brush the owners of Tammy Ten Media and CorrPak Merchandising.

In the ISMA-MSS series, only Canadian visit last season, Trent Stephens won at Delaware Speedway. Stephens drove the familiar No. 61 Ken Ganley Buick GMC Supermodified at Flamboro. He finished second in the first ten-lap heat race. After the redraw, Stephens was gridded fifth but moved into the second position by lap 4. Getting past the leader, Anthony Nocella, proved more difficult. Stephens claimed the victory despite a hard-charging Tyler Shullick. |

Finishing just 0.194 seconds behind the winner, Trent Stephens, was the runner-up, Tyler Shullick. Shullick drives the No. 96 Precision Welding sponsored Supermodified and topped the timesheet in qualifying. He was entered in the second heat race and finished fourth. Despite his speed during the event, Schullick lined up twelfth for the feature. He maneuvered his way to the front but was delayed by lapped traffic. Schullick ran out of time and finished second. |

The No. 11 Supermodified with backing from Shea Concrete Products is driven by Anthony Nocella. Nocella was entered in the second heat race and finished third. His 2026 campaign got off to an excellent start when he earned the pole for the seventy-five-lap contest. At the drop of the green, Nocella jumped into the lead, which he held before being passed by the eventual winner, Trent Stephens. Then he battled with Tyler Shullick before finishing third. |

The race ran caution-free until lap 49. Entering corner two, there was contact between the No. 61 High Performance Lubricants Supermodified of Mike Ordway Jr. and the No. 55 Precision Welding sponsored Supermodified driven by Rich Reid. Reid spun into the wall but was able to restart the contest. Ordway Jr., who started seventh, would finish on the lead lap in the fourth position. Reid finished one lap behind the leaders in tenth place. |

The ISMA-MSS reigning series champion is Mike McVetta. McVetta also earned the title in 2023. He pilots the No. 22 Perfection Fabricators Supermodified. McVetta was entered in the first heat race and crossed the finish line in the fourth spot. He was gridded in the ninth position for the seventy-five-lap feature. However, McVetta was not a contender this evening and took the checkered flag two laps behind the leaders in eleventh place. |
