In 2021, FEL (Franczak Enterprises Ltd.), an automotive learning and promotion company, expanded its presence in Canadian motorsports.

FEL saw an opportunity to revitalize and reinvest in Canadian car racing. FEL’s foray into the 2017 Toyo Tires F1600 Series as a featured sponsor resulted in fields growing from twelve to fifteen entries to over thirty cars in just three years.

Emzone Radical Cup Canada drivers compete in two contests each race weekend.

  • May 15-17 - Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
  • July 18-19 - Calabogie Motorsport Park
  • August 7-9 - Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres
  • August 14-16 - Streets of Markham
  • September 4-6 - Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

The Emzone Radical Cup Canada series cars are built by the British manufacturer, Radical Sportscars. The company was founded by Mick Hyde and Phil Abbott in 1997. The early vehicles were road legal but were more popular as race cars. The Radicals used in the series are the SR3 model powered by an RPE - Suzuki four-cylinder Double Overhead Camshaft engine with a displacement of 1340-cc, which produces 170-rear wheel horsepower. The chassis is a space frame design with double wishbones, coil springs, adjustable shock absorbers, and roll bars. Stopping the SR3 are four-piston calipers front and rear with vented rotors. The Radicals use cast aluminum wheels fitted with 200/580/R15 tires on the front and 265/605/R16 on the rear.

Introduced 2024 was the Masters category for drivers 40-year of age and older. The class has a separate Masters championship.

The series introduced a new wrinkle this year designed to give fans more exciting on-track action and provide 'up and coming' competitors with the opportunity they need to develop race craft. For the weekend's second contest the starting grid will be an inversion based on the six fastest laps from race one.

The final rounds of the Emzone Radical Cup Canada took place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park during the Labour Day Sprints Weekend. Drivers competed in two 40-minute contests around the ten-turn 2.459-mile road course.

Twenty-one Emzone Radical Cup Canada competitors enter Canadian Tire Motorsport Park’s final turn on Saturday morning for round nine of the championship. Alex Tagliani starts on pole in the No. 8 St-Hubert / Dry-Shine Radical SR3 XX. Beside Tagliani is Timothe Pernod driving the No. 51 TWOth Autosport-prepared Radical SR3 XX. Filling out the second row are Antoine Sénéchal in the No. 63 Radical SR3 XX and Aidan Shimbashi in the No. 72 Radical SR3 XX.
Antoine Sénéchal piloted the No. 63 Tag One Motorsport Radical SR3 XX. Entering the final weekend of the season, Sénéchal looked for his first Pro 1340 victory. He had earned three podium finishes, two of them runner-up results. On Saturday morning, Sénéchal started third and chased Alex Tagliani to a second-place finish. In the finale, he finished behind Tagliani but was awarded the win after Tagliani was disqualified.
This weekend, Chris Styles dominated the Masters 1340 category. Styles' 2026 campaign began in the series visit to Calabogie Motorsport Park for rounds three and four. By round six, at Trois-Rivières, he was up to speed and finished second. When the series visited Markham, Styles collected a third-place finish and a victory. The driver of the No. 7 Purity Gas Radical SR3 XX finished eighth overall both days at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, which was good for the class victory.
This season, Alex Tagliani split his time between the Emzone Radical Cup Canada and NASCAR Canada series. Tagliani entered the final weekend with victories at Trois-Rivières and Markam. Driving the No. 8 St-Hubert Radical SR3 XX, he started round nine on pole and won. On Sunday morning, Tagliani started fourth but was the first driver to the checkered flag. However, the car was found to be noncompliant, which led to his disqualification.
The start of the 2026 Emzone Radical Cup Canada finale saw twenty-one competitors charge into Canadian Tire Motorsport Park’s corner one. Pole-sitter Aidan Shimbashi leads the field in the No. 72 MW Generational Wealth Radical SR3 XX. Beside Shimbashi is the other front starter, Alana Carter in the No. 2 Radical Academy Radical SR3 XX. Trailing the leaders are the No. 63 Radical SR3 XX of Antoine Sénéchal and Saturday’s winner, Alex Tagliani.
The 2026 Emzone Radical Cup Canada season gave Pro 1340 competitor Brady Clapham a chance to redeem himself. Clapham joined the series in 2024, and with a year of experience, he was ready to chase the championship; however, he fell short by six points in 2025. This year he competed in the No. 77 Radical Canada East Radical SR3 XX. During his campaign, Clapham earned eight podiums, three of which were victories, and won the title by twenty markers.
Like Brady Clapham, Masters 1340 driver Cedric Ohayon fell short of the 2025 title, finishing second in the points chase. Ohayon returned in 2026 piloting the familiar No. 44 Farinex Radical SR3 XX. This year, he performed much better, with two victories at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières and a win at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham. He beat series veteran Robert Burgess by fifty-nine markers to win the championship.
