The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series was founded in 1978 by former midget racer Ted Johnson.

The 2025 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car schedule consists of 90 events, which sees teams travel to forty-one tracks in twenty-one states and one Canadian province. The season begins in Florida on February 5 at Volusia Speedway Park and concludes nine months later at The Dirt Track in Charlotte.

The tube-frame open-wheel World of Outlaws Sprint Car must weigh at least 1,425 pounds with the driver.  The cars are powered by a fuel-injected 410-cu.in. engine. All competitors must use methanol fuel. This potent combination produces over 900 horsepower. The power-to-weight ratio of a Sprint Car can exceed that of Formula 1.

Connected to the motor is an in/out direct drive gearbox that has no reverse or clutch. Attached to this unit is a quick-change rear end, which allows the team to change the gear ratio for different-sized tracks.  The cars are not equipped with a starter and require a push truck to fire the motor.

The ability to change torsion bars and adjust shock absorbers allows teams to improve the handling of Sprint Cars.

Positioned over the driver and mounted to the roll cage is a large wing and a smaller one on the front of the car. The wings produce downforce to aid the vehicle with traction down the straights and in the corners.

May 14 and 15 saw the highly anticipated return of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series to Canada. 2017 was the last time the tour stopped at Ohsweken Speedway. After qualifying and heats, successful drivers would advance to a thirty-lap feature around the 0.375-mile semi-banked dirt oval.

This is the World of Outlaws salute to the fans. On the outside in the No. 2 Huset's Speedway.com Sprint Car is the points leader, David Gravel. Beside Gravel is Giovanni Scelzi driving the No. 18 Logan Contractors Supply car. Scelzi would start fourth when the competitors lined up behind the pace vehicle. Next to Scelzi is the 7S NOS Sprint Car of Chris Windom, who was gridded in third position. The pole-sitter is Jordan Thomas, piloting the No. 79 Thomas Racing Sprint Car.
The points leader, David Gravel, entered the Ohsweken event with five victories in 2025. Gravel was fastest in the Group B qualifying session. He was gridded on the pole for Heat Race 3 and won driving the No. 2 Huset's Speedway.com Sprint Car. Gravel lined up on the outside of the front row for the A Main. He grabbed the lead on lap 12 and battled with Carson Macedo. Gravel was in the lead when the checkered flag fell.
Finishing the A-Main in the runner-up position was Sheldon Haudenschild. Haudenschild is the son of legendary Sprint Car driver, Jac Haudenschild. Sheldon has one victory in 2025, driving the No. 17 NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car. Haudenschild was the fastest driver during the time trials and finished second in the first heat. He started the feature in seventh but was in second before the contest reached the mid-point.
The No. 41 Albaugh-sponsored Sprint Car is driven by Carson Macedo. Macedo's younger brother Cole also competes in the World of Outlaws. Carson had three consecutive third-place finishes in the points chase before being the runner-up in 2024. This year, he has collected three victories.  Macedo won the first heat. He started the A Main eighth but charged to the front and exchanged the lead with David Gravel before finishing third.
Bill Balog calls Alaska home and is nicknamed the North Pole Nightmare. Balog joined the World of Outlaws full-time last year and finished eighth in the final standings. In 2025, he has one victory driving the No. 17B Honest Abe Roofing Sprint Car. Balog was fourth fastest in the Group A qualifying session. He started Heat Race 2 on the pole and grabbed a victory. In the feature, Balog was gridded fifth and crossed the finish line in fourth.
The top three finishers on night one of the World of Outlaws visit to Ohsweken Speedway. In the center is the points leader and this evening's winner, David Gravel. Gravel's victories in 2025 now total six. On the left is the runner-up, Sheldon Haudenschild, who recorded the fastest time in qualifying. The final position in the top three is occupied by Carson Macedo. Macedo challenged Gravel before finishing third.
