The Middleport Mechanical Heating & Cooling Thunder Stock division is an eighteen-race series that competes at Ohsweken Speedway. The cars in this category are limited to North American-produced passenger vehicles. Some of the common cars found in this division include the Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Ford LTD Crown Victoria. Corvettes, Jeeps, 4-wheel-drive, and mid to full-size trucks are excluded from this category.

Cars must retain the Factory Stock appearance. The roof must be made of steel, but the fenders, doors, trunk lid, and quarter panels can be replaced with 0.040-inch aluminum.

All frames must retain factory stock specifications and dimensions. Unibody cars may connect the subframes. The front and rear suspension must also maintain the stock dimensions.

Rules require that all cars must be equipped with a roll cage, which is welded to the frame. The roll cage must be constructed of steel tubing 1.5" outside diameter X 0.120" wall thickness or 1.75" outside diameter X 0.095 wall thickness.

Any motor that was not originally delivered in the same year as the vehicle's make or model must be pre-approved for competition. Engines eligible for the class include:

  • Chevrolet – 350 cu.in.
  • Ford – 351 cu.in.
  • Chrysler – 360 cu.in.

To reduce costs, engine modifications are kept to a minimum by using spec components.

A post-race technical inspection is conducted to ensure that the top finishers comply with the rules.

The fourteenth round of the Middleport Mechanical Heating & Cooling Thunder Stock Series was held during the Ontario Agra and Charles Jones Industrial event. Drivers competed in a twenty-lap A-Main around Ohsweken Speedway's 3/8 mile clay oval.

Twenty-five Middleport Mechanical Heating & Cooling Thunder Stocks were entered in round fourteen of the championship. Bella General was initially scheduled to start on the pole; however, General chose to take the green flag from the rear and would finish fourteenth. General's decision resulted in the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro of Ryan Dinning starting first. Beside Dinning is George Grosul in the No. 03 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
The round fourteen Middleport Mechanical Heating & Cooling Thunder Stock Series victory went to Dave Bailey. Bailey has captured seven consecutive Thunder Stocks titles, beginning in 2015 and concluding in 2024. He was entered in Qualifier 1 driving the familiar No. 49 Queenston Chevrolet Camaro and finished second. Bailey was gridded nineteenth for the A-Main. He charged to the front, and with two laps to go, Bailey grabbed the lead and won.
The No. 23 Timson Auto Service Chevrolet Camaro is driven by Trevor DeBoer. DeBoer is currently third in the Middleport Mechanical Heating & Cooling Thunder Stock points chase. He was victorious in the first Qualifier and started the feature in sixth place. During the race, DeBoer made steady progress and moved into second on lap 8. He would lose the spot to Dave Bailey but regain it with a late pass on Ryan Dinning.
On Friday evening, it appeared that Ryan Dinning might capture his first A-Main win of 2025. Dinning, who drives the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro, won the second Qualifier. He lined up on the pole for the twenty-lap feature and shot into first place early. A victory was looking promising as Dinning had a comfortable lead. However, a red flag allowed Dave Bailey and Trevor DeBoer to close the gap and pass Dinning before the checker.
On lap 13 of the A-Main, Ryan Beagle's title aspirations took a blow. Beagle is the current point's leader and last season's Middleport Mechanical Heating & Cooling Thunder Stock champion. The driver of the No. 84 Ackland Insurance Chevrolet Camaro started the A-Main in eighteenth place. Beagle was in ninth place when he was involved in a corner one incident with Trevor Monaghan and Nick Masi. He finished eighteenth.
The top three finishers for round fourteen of the 2025 Middleport Mechanical Heating & Cooling Thunder Stock Series. In the center is the winner, Dave Bailey, who has won his fifth victory of the year. Bailey is currently second in the championship, but with the retirement of the points leader, Ryan Beagle, he closed the gap to within sixteen markers. On the left is the runner-up, Trevor DeBoer. The final spot belongs to Ryan Dinning.
