The Super Stock category includes a variety of makes and models from the '60s to the current year. The rules used in the class allow some suspension modifications and changes to the bodies. Some Super Stock cars retain the original steel bodies with plastic noses and fiberglass hoods; however, most use fiberglass body panels. They are powered by a modified small-block engines or crate motors from General Motors and Ford. The division serves as a 'stepping stone' for those drivers who aspire to compete in the Pro Late Model category.

The season opener for the St. Onge Recreation Super Stocks at Sunset Speedway was a thirty-lap contest around the 0.333-mile banked asphalt oval.

Nine St. Onge Recreation Super Stock competitors line up on Sunset Speedway’s back straight for round one of the championship at the Steve Slaughter Classic. Johnny Morrison is on the pole for the thirty-lap contest in the No. 83 Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC-sponsored Chevrolet Camaro. To Morrison’s right is the No. 48 Gunn’s Auto Service Chevrolet Camaro of Colton Everingham. In row two are Connor Maltese and Bailey Jacobs.
There wasn’t any evidence that Colton Everingham would be a threat to win the feature after his results in the heat races. The No. 48 Gunn’s Auto Service Chevrolet Camaro finished sixth in the first qualifier and second in heat two. Everingham started the final race on the outside of the front row. He grabbed the lead from the pole-sitter, Johnny Morrison, on lap one and steadily pulled away from the field. Everingham went unchallenged for the victory.
Miles Tyson is a threat wherever he completes. His racing resume includes the 2023 Super Stock track championship at Peterborough Speedway and last year’s St. Onge Super Stock title at Sunset Speedway. Driving the No. 49 Engineered Racing Services Chevrolet Camaro, Tyson was victorious in heat one and finished fourth in the second. He was gridded fifth for the feature and passed Johnny Morrison, Connor Maltese and Bailey Jacobs to finish second.
The No. 60 Chemong Home Solutions Chevrolet Camaro is piloted by Bailey Jacobs. Jacobs began his 2025 campaign with a third-place result in heat one. In the second qualifier, he collected another third-place finish. Jacobs started in the fourth position in the opening round of the St. Onge Super Stock Championship. He passed Connor Maltese early and then Johnny Morrison. Unable to hold off Miles Tyson, he finished third.
Paul Pepper drives the No. 29 Utility Action Trailer Sales / Humberview Parts Chevrolet Camaro. Pepper is a regular at Sunset Speedway and finished third in last season’s St. Onge Super Stock standings. At the Steve Slaughter Classic event, he placed a distant seventh in the first qualifier but collected a fourth in heat two. Pepper was gridded sixth for the finale. He followed Bailey Jacobs, who started in front of him and finished in the fourth position.
In the last couple of seasons, Colton Everingham has had some heat wins. But it has been six years since he and his team celebrated a feature victory. Everingham did it in a dominating fashion, leading every lap and winning by 0.799 seconds. He attributed the win to the effort that he and his father put into preparing the No. 48 Gunn’s Auto Service / Ryan’s Landscaping Chevrolet Camaro over the winter.
