The inaugural Steel City Rumble Series is a five-race championship for Super Stocks at Flamboro Speedway.

A race is scheduled for each month:

  • Saturday, May 24 - 35-laps
  • Saturday, June 21 - 35-laps
  • Saturday, July 5 - Twin 25-laps
  • Saturday, August 2 - 35-laps
  • Sunday, September 6 - 40-laps

The Super Stock category includes a variety of makes and models from the '60s to the current year. The rules used in the class allow some suspension modifications and changes to the bodies. Some Super Stock cars retain the original steel bodies with plastic noses and fiberglass hoods; however, most use fiberglass body panels. They are powered by a modified small-block engines or crate motors from General Motors and Ford. The division serves as a 'stepping stone' for those drivers who aspire to compete in the Pro Late Model category.

Tire rules have been implemented to reduce expenses. Teams are limited to an inventory of four used and four new tires during the season. Also, if a driver hasn't competed in the first two races and enters a single event, they must start last.

The third weekend of the Steel City Rumble was scheduled a week before the Dayco Super Stock Series. Organizers encouraged Dayco competitors to enter in preparation for their event. Instead of a single thirty-five-lap contest, drivers competed in two twenty-five-lap races around the 1/3-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

A field of eight Steel City Rumble drivers rounds Flamboro Speedway’s corners one and two for the first feature race of the evening. Pacing the field is the No. 13 London Recreational Racing Chevrolet Camaro of the series organizer, Justin Collison. Beside Collison is Brendon Edgar driving the No. 4D Edgar Excavating and Haulage Chevrolet Camaro.  Row two is occupied by the No. 73 Cadillac CTS of Nick Troback and the points leader, Lane Zardo.
Lane Zardo began the third weekend of the Steel City Rumble Series where he left off at the last event with a win. Zardo was gridded fourth for the first feature in the No. 36Z Bester Forest Products Ford Mustang. He passed Brandon Edgar and Nick Troback early before chasing down Justin Collison for the victory. Zardo started last in the finale and charged through the field but could not pass Carson Nagy and finished in the runner-up spot.
Justin Collison, the organizer of the Steel City Rumble Series, hasn’t had very much luck in the first two rounds. Contact knocked him out of the inaugural race and a fuel cap issue took him out of contention in round two. The driver of the No. 13 London Recreational Racing Chevrolet Camaro started Saturday’s first race on the pole and battled with Lane Zardo for the lead before finishing second. Collison was gridded seventh in the second feature and finished fourth.
The grid for the second feature was based on a complete inversion of the results from the earlier contest. As a result, the No. 93 Mason Composite Services sponsored Chevrolet Camaro of Jerry Broom started on the pole. On the outside of Broom was Brendon Edgar driving the No. 4D Edgar Excavating and Haulage Chevrolet Camaro. Immediately behind the leaders were the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro of Pete Vanderwyst and Nick Troback in the No. 73 Cadillac CTS.
One of the Dayco competitors taking advantage of the additional track time was the series points leader, Carson Nagy. Nagy, who drives the No. 93 HumberviewParts.ca Chevrolet Camaro, was collecting points for Chad Corcoran. In Saturday’s first contest, he started last but moved up the order to finish fourth. In the finale, Nagy was gridded fifth but moved into the lead early. Despite pressure from Lane Zardo, he captured the victory.
Former Super Stock track champion Roy Wilkie competes in the No. 33 Canadian Crane Rentals Ford Mustang. In the first two rounds of the Steel City Rumble Series, Wilkie collected third and fourth-place results. He opened this event by finishing third after starting on the back row. In the second feature, Wilkie was gridded in the sixth position. He moved through the field but didn’t have the speed to catch Carson Nagy and Lane Zardo. He finished third.
The top three finishers for race two during the third weekend of the Steel City Rumble Series at Flamboro Speedway.  In the center is the winner, Carson Nagy. Last year’s Dayco Super Stock title holder is dominating this year’s championship. On the left is the runner-up and current Steel City Rumble Series points leader, Lane Zardo, who has three victories in four starts. Completing the top three is Roy Wilkie.
