Now in its thirty-fifth year, the Ontario Stock Car Association of Asphalt Racers (OSCAAR) is responsible for sanctioning two divisions: Modified and Hot Rod.

On November 1, 2022, it was announced that OSCAAR had merged with the United Racing Series. The relationship increases OSCAAR's resources and allows the United Racing Series to expand its brand and footprint in motorsports.

During the off-season Overkill Enterprises replaced Just Foam It as the title sponsor for the OSCAAR Modifieds.

There are eight races on the 2025 Overkill Enterprises OSCAAR Modified schedule.

  • May 31 - Flamboro Speedway
  • June 28 - Delaware Speedway
  • July 12 - Full Throttle Motor Speedway
  • July 26 - Peterborough Speedway
  • August 16 - Sauble Speedway
  • September 27 - Delaware Speedway
  • October 4 - Flamboro Speedway
  • October 10 - Peterborough Speedway

The cars competing in this class are purpose-built open-wheel vehicles. The Modifieds use a steel tube frame chassis, which is no less than 1-3/4-inch outside diameter with 0.095-inch wall thickness. Bodies are made of sheet metal, with the driver’s compartment and engine bay covered. The cars may be any make or model, but they tend to have little to no resemblance to their road-going counterparts.

The engine option selected by the car owner determines the weight of the vehicle. A Modified using 350-horsepower Crate Engine is the lightest at 2,600 pounds and 2,775 pounds is required for a car powered by a Built Motor. Weight may be added or removed depending on the choice of transmission.

Many of the other rules governing the OSCAAR Modified class are for driver safety and to keep costs down.

Round one on the 2025 Overkill Enterprises OSCAAR Modified Series calendar was Flamboro Speedway during the Bill Zardo Memorial event. Drivers would compete in a thirty-lap contest around the 1/3-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

Nine OSCAAR Modifieds line up on Flamboro Speedway’s back straight for round one of the 2025 Overkill Enterprises Series. On the pole, driving the No. 88 Darrell Dick Excavating Modified is Ryan Dick. Next to Dick is the No. 69 The Fyre Place Modified, driven by Wally Wilson. Behind the leaders in the second row is Steve Trendell in the No. 46 519 Tint Modified and the No. 99 Neviss Electrical Systems Modified driven by Luke Gignac.
Jason Keen has competed in the OSCAAR Modified Series since 2018. Keen finished second in last year’s points chase but won the championship in 2023. He was entered in heat race one, driving the No. 18 Oakville Auto and Diesel Modified, and finished second. Keen was gridded fifth for the feature. On lap 7, he and Steve Trendell passed the leader Ryan Dick. Keen attempted to pass Trendell on several occasions and got the job done on the final restart for the win.
Steve Trendell came within two laps of collecting his first OSCAAR Modified feature victory. In the off-season, Trendell purchased the backup car from last year’s champion, T.J. Edwards. He competed in the second heat and finished second. Trendell started the feature in the third spot and passed the race leader on lap 7. Contact between Ryan Dick and Dale Reinhart resulted in a two-lap shoot-out. Jason Keen shot into first place and Trendell finished second.
Finishing the season opener in the third position was Luke Gignac. Gignac won the OSCAAR Modified title in 2017. Driving the No. 99 Neviss Electrical Systems sponsored Modified, he finished third in the second qualifying race and lined up fourth for the feature. Gignac ran much of the race alone in fifth place. However, on lap-28, there was contact between Ryan Dick and Dale Reinhart. Gignac inherited third and held the position to the checker.
The top three finishers for round one of the 2025 Overkill Enterprises OSCAAR Modified series at Flamboro Speedway. In the center is the winner, Jason Keen. Keen earned his fourth series victory with an aggressive restart pass late in the race. The runner-up, Steve Trendell, stands on the left. Trendell earned the McColl Enterprises Halfway Leader bonus. Rounding out the top three is Luke Gignac.
