This year's Autumn Colours Classic presented by B&G Towing and Recovery attracted twenty-six Late Model drivers who competed in the Electric City 167 around 'Canada's Toughest 1/3 Mile.'

Pro Late Models are constructed according to specifications and controls standard to most stock car series. The chassis is a tube frame covered with a fiberglass body. Popular body styles include the Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet SS, Ford Mustang, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry. Depending on the engine choice, a car can weigh as much as 2800 lbs. Unlike the popular APC series, this event allows teams to compete with crate engines or built motors. There are also rules restricting the options for transmissions, ignition components, body material, brakes, etc.

Due to the length of the Electric City 167, all competitors were given a break at the halfway point to refuel their cars. They were also allowed to make adjustments, but could not change the tires.

The start of the 2025 Electric City 167 and twenty-six Late Model competitors take the green at Peterborough Speedway. On the pole is the fastest qualifier, Jake Sheridan in the No. 52 Vibrent Farms / Pride Seeds Ford Mustang. Sharing the front row with Sheridan is the No. 83 Wellington Systems Chevrolet SS of Dale Shaw. Immediately behind the leaders are Travis Hallyburton and Dustyn Mombourquette.
Jake Sheridan has been on form lately. Sheridan finished second in the Castrol 300 a couple of weeks ago at Delaware Speedway. And he was the runner-up in the APC United Late Model series and won the NTN BCA Triple Crown. Last weekend at Flamboro's Grisdale Triple Crown, he collected another runner-up result. However, at Peterborough Speedway, the driver of the 52 Vibrent Farms Ford Mustang went flag-to-flag for the victory.
This season, Late Model competitor Rick Spencer-Walt has only made a couple of starts as he focuses on his son's Legend program. Most recently, Spencer-Walt drove Dwayne Baker's Ford Mustang in the final APC event at Delaware Speedway and finished ninth. At the Autumn Colours Classic, Spencer-Walt was back in the Mustang sporting his familiar No. 31. He qualified fifth and despite a few unscheduled stops for a tire issue, he finished in the runner-up spot.
APC United Late Model front runner Dale Shaw entered the Electric City 167 driving the No. 83 Wellington Systems Chevrolet SS. Shaw finished fifth in this year's standings but won the series' inaugural championship. Shaw's qualifying time at Peterborough put him on the outside of the front row. Like Spencer-Walt, he was required to stop due to a window net issue. Shaw charged back up the order and finished third.
Peterborough Speedway regular Dan McHattie is always a threat to win. This year, McHattie finished third in the track's Late Model standings. During time trials for the Electric City 167, he recorded the tenth fastest time. McHattie advanced early, and as the event neared the end, the No. 71 JJ Stewart Chrysler Chevrolet Camaro was in a solid third place. Unfortunately, an issue caused the handling to go away and he was passed by Dale Shaw, finishing fourth.
Gord Shepherd drives the No. 10S Chevrolet SS with backing from Highway 400 Transmission and Northway Truck Stop. Shepherd's home track is Sunset Speedway, where he won the 2023 Seaton Structures Pro Late Model championship. Shepherd was gridded in the eighth starting position for the 167-lap contest.   He remained in contention during the race and crossed the finish line in fifth place.
Shawn Chenoweth must be one of the busiest asphalt racers in Ontario this year. He competed in the Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model championship, Dayco Super Stock and APC United Late Model Series. Chenoweth brought his Late Model and Super Stock cars to the Autumn Colours Classic. He drove the No. 89C London Recreational Racing Chevrolet SS in the 167-lap contest and finished sixth after starting seventh.
The top three finishers for the Electric City 167 at Peterborough Speedway. In the center is the winner, Jake Sheridan. His victory came after a couple of runner-up results in showcase events at Delaware and Flamboro Speedways. On the left is the runner-up, Rick Spencer-Walt, who overcame tire issues to finish second by a margin of 4.254 seconds. The final position belongs to the third-place finisher, Dale Shaw, who had to overcome a window net issue.
