One of the support events during the two days the World of Outlaws were at Ohsweken Speedway was a Dirt Late Model contest. Competitors competed in one of two heat races to determine their starting position in the twenty-lap A-Main.

A Dirt Late Model chassis is a tube-frame configuration with a roll cage built specifically for competing on dirt ovals. They usually have a minimum wheelbase of 103 inches and a maximum of 105 inches. Unlike cars built for asphalt competition, they are equipped with numerous adjustments. To improve handling, teams can change the car's corner weights, spring rates, and spring mounting position. Tire compound, tread design, and stagger also contribute to a Dirt Late Model's handling.

The bodywork of a Dirt Late Model is constructed from steel, plastic, and/or fiberglass; however, specific rules govern the dimensions of the nosepiece, door, roof, quarter panels, and fenders.

The cars are powered by a General Motors factory-sealed 602 or 604 crate engine. These carburetor motors feature a cast-iron block with aluminum cylinder heads. They produce 404 horsepower and 406 ft-lbs of torque. Bolted to the motor is a two-speed transmission. A drive shaft with a minimum diameter of 2 inches connects the transmission to a standard quick-change rear end.

A car's weight is determined by the engine choice:

  • 602 crate engine – 2,200 lbs.
  • 604 crate engine - 2,350 lbs.

All drivers compete on Hoosier tires, which are mounted on 14-inch wide aluminum wheels.

Glenn Styres debut his new Late Model at Ohsweken Speedway during the World of Outlaws event. Styres was fast in qualifying and started Heat Race 1 on the pole. He was initially challenged by the other front row starter, Mike Lewis, but was able to secure the victory.  In the A-Main, Styres lined up beside Brian Speelman. Styres moved to the top early. However, he was briefly passed by Gregg Haskell but retook the lead and won.
Finishing in the runner-up position was Brandon Mowat. Mowat drives the No. 46 Moto Sports of Trenton Dirt Late Model and is a regular in the Vanderlaan Northeast Late Model Alliance. He is currently fifth in the point standings. In Heat Race 1, he started near the rear of the field in ninth place but moved up the order and finished fourth. Mowat started seventh in the feature but advanced during the contest and finished second.
John McIntyre is another competitor from the Vanderlaan Northeast Late Model Alliance. McIntyre didn't score any points in the season opener and sits well down the standings. The driver of 19JR Borderline Bar & Grill Dirt Late Model finished fifth in Heat Race 2 after starting on the outside of the front row. He was gridded tenth for the A-Main but charged to the front and crossed the finish line in the third position.
The No. 22 Twenty 2 Lawn Care Dirt Late Model was piloted by Brian Speelman. Speelman finished third in Heat Race 2 after starting ninth. He was gridded on the pole for the twenty-lap feature. By lap 5, he had lost positions to the eventual winner, Glenn Styres and Gregg Haskell. Speelman regained his place but lost spots to Brandon Mowat and John McIntyre to finish in fourth spot.
Glenn Styres and his partner Chantelle Weiler enjoy Styres' win on the victory pad at Ohsweken Speedway. Not only was the owner of Ohsweken entered in the Late Model event, but Styres also participated in the World of Outlaws and Modified races. Additionally, he competes in the NASCAR Canada Series. The first-place result 'softened the blow' for not qualifying for the World of Outlaws A-Main.
