Pro Late Models are constructed according to specifications and controls standard to most stock car series.
The chassis is a tube frame covered with a fiberglass body. Popular body styles include the Chevrolet Camaro,
Chevrolet SS, Ford Mustang, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry. A car can weigh as much as 2800 lbs,
depending on the engine choice. Unlike the popular APC series, this event allows teams to compete with crate engines or built motors.
There are also rules restricting the options for transmissions, ignition components, body material, brakes, etc.
Round five of the Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Model Series was held on May 24. Drivers competed in a 50-lap contest around the 0.333-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.
The event attracted APC United Late Model competitors, who were preparing for their event on June 7.

A field of twelve Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Model Series line up of Flamboro Speedway’s front straight for round five of the championship.
Pacing the field are the pole-sitter Cole Quinton in the No. 18 Spira Chevrolet SS and the No. 17 Canadian Clean Fuels Toyota Camry driven by Josh Stade.
In row two are the No. 89C LRR Chevrolet SS of Shawn Chenoweth and Jake Sheridan driving the No. 52 Vibrent Farms Ford Mustang.

Jake Sheridan won his first race of 2025 at Sunset Speedway, driving the No. 52 Vibrent Farms Ford Mustang.
Unfortunately, when Sheridan returned to Sunset for round one of the APC series, he had an engine issue—starting thirteenth and finishing tenth.
Sheridan was back on form at Flamboro. He was gridded fourth, but by lap 3, Sheridan was in second.
Twenty-eight circuits later, he passed the leader, Josh Stade, for first place and the victory.

Josh Stade won his first race of the year at Sunset Speedway’s Steve Slaughter Classic.
The No. 17 Canada Clean Fuels Toyota Camry driver returned to Sunset and was victorious in the APC Late Model event.
Stade was gridded on the outside of the front row at Flamboro but jumped into an early lead.
It appeared that he would make it three wins in a row.
However, Jake Sheridan passed him on lap 31 and he finished second.

During the off-season, Shawn Chenoweth replaced his Late Model with a Camaro previously raced by last year’s APC Series champion, Kyle Steckly.
It appears that purchase is paying off, as Chenoweth has three third-place results in as many starts.
The No. 89C London Recreational Racing Chevrolet SS was gridded third for the one-hundred-lap contest.
Chenoweth held his position and received the checkered flag in third place.

Billy Schwartzenberg is the 2024 Flamboro Speedway Late Model track champion.
He also won an APC event in 2019 at Flamboro. Schwartzenberg leads this year’s points chase with three victories in four races.
He was the seventh fastest driver in the qualifying session, piloting the No. 86 Hy-Grade Steel Roofing / Spira Ford Fusion.
Passes on Jacob Mercer, Kevin Albers, and Cole Quinton were rewarded with a fourth-place finish.

Round five of the Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Model Series attracted Peterborough Speedway regulars, Dan McHattie and Jacob Mercer.
Mercer finished second in last year’s Peterborough track championship, while McHattie was third.
Mercer qualified sixth fastest at Flamboro, with McHattie starting immediately behind him in eighth.
McHattie passed Mercer in the No. 71 J Stewart Chrysler Chevrolet Camaro and finished seventh.
