Now in its thirty-fifth year, the Ontario Stock Car Association of Asphalt Racers (OSCAAR) is responsible for sanctioning two divisions: Modified and Hot Rod.

On November 1, 2022, it was announced that OSCAAR had merged with the United Racing Series. The relationship increases OSCAAR’s resources and allows the United Racing Series to expand its brand and footprint in motorsports.

Ten races are on the 2025 OSCAAR Hot Rod schedule.

  • May 31 - Flamboro Speedway
  • June 14 - Sauble Speedway
  • June 28 - Delaware Speedway
  • July 12 - Full Throttle Speedway
  • July 26 - Peterborough Speedway
  • August 16 - Sauble Speedway
  • September 20 - Brighton Speedway
  • September 27 - Delaware Speedway
  • October 4 - Flamboro Speedway
  • October 10 - Peterborough Speedway

The cars competing in the championship are constructed to specifications and rules common to most stock car series. What makes the Hot Rod division unique are the makes and models that compete in the division. The cars must be North American, have a steel body and have been produced between 1949 and 1984. No convertibles or front-wheel-drive vehicles can participate in this series. Changes to the rules in the off-season included the addition of pick-up trucks and an increase in the eligible year range from 1974 to 1984. The Hot Rods must have a stock roof, grill, tail and the rest of the body panels can be fabricated from 22-gauge sheet steel but must retain a stock appearance. Many other rules governing this class are for safety and to keep the costs down.

Round nine of the 2025 OSCAAR Hot Rod series was held at Flamboro Speedway during the track's Frostoberfest event. Drivers competed in a thirty-lap contest around Flamboro's 1/3-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

The 2025 OSCAAR Hot Rod point season ended with round eight at Delaware Speedway. The final two races, at Flamboro and Peterborough Speedways, did not count towards the championship.

Nine OSCAAR Hot Rod competitors line up on Flamboro Speedway's back straight for round nine of the series. Pacing the field is the pole-sitter, Dan Archibald in the No. 07 1976 Chevrolet Nova. Beside Archibald is the series 2025 champion, Tyler Hawn, driving the No. 2 1966 Pontiac Beaumont. In row two are the No. 8 1977 Chevrolet Camaro of Drew Richardson and Kyle Steckly in the No. 26 1971 Ford Mach 1 Mustang.
Dan Archibald used round nine at Flamboro Speedway to make his 2025 OSCAAR debut. Archibald finished second in heat race two, driving the No. 07 1976 Chevrolet Nova. He lined up on the pole for the feature.  Midway through the race, he was in fifth place when he experienced a flat tire. With a new tire, Archibald returned to the track and moved up the order. A late caution and a flat tire for the leader, Steve Book, gave him first place and the victory.
The OSCAAR Hot Rod series two-time champion Steve Book drives the No. 47 1960 Studebaker Hawk. Book finished fourth in this year's championship with seven top-ten finishes and a victory at Peterborough Speedway.  At Flamboro, he encountered an issue in the first heat and finished last. He was gridded ninth for the feature. In the closing laps, Book had a flat tire. He returned to the track and, on the final restart, salvaged a second-place result.
Tyler Hawn earned his sixth OSCAAR Hot Rod series championship this season. The driver of the No. 2 1966 Pontiac Beaumont also captured the Struyk Energy Hot Rod division title at Sunset Speedway. Hawn was entered in the second qualifier and claimed the victory. He started the feature on the outside of the front row. Hawn fought for the lead with Kyle Steckly until there was contact. He pitted but returned to the track and finished third.
There were only nine OSCAAR Hot Rod entries for round nine at Flamboro; however, they produced some exciting racing. Early in the feature, a battle developed for the lead between Tyler Hawn in the No. 2 1966 Pontiac Beaumont and the No. 26 1971 Ford Mach 1 Mustang driven by Kyle Steckly. It came to a head with three laps remaining. Steckly moved inside Hawn and there was contact in corner four. Steckly retired and Hawn finished third.
The top three finishers for round nine of the OSCAAR Hot Rod Series at Flamboro Speedway. In the center is the winner, Dan Archibald. This was Archibald's first visit to the series this year. He took the win despite pitting for a flat tire. The runner-up, Steve Book, is standing on the left. Book was also required to pit for a new tire. Not to be outdone, the third-place finisher, Tyler Hawn, left the track to check for crash damage.
