In 2021, FEL (Franczak Enterprises Ltd.), an automotive learning and promotion company, expanded its presence in Canadian motorsports.

FEL saw an opportunity to revitalize and reinvest in Canadian car racing. FEL’s foray into the 2017 Toyo Tires F1600 Series as a featured sponsor resulted in fields growing from twelve to fifteen entries to over thirty cars in just three years.

Emzone Radical Cup Canada drivers compete in two contests each race weekend.

  • May 16-18 - Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
  • July 18-20 - Honda Indy Toronto
  • July 25-27 - Calabogie Motorsport Park
  • August 8-10 - Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres
  • August 29-31- Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

The Emzone Radical Cup Canada series cars are built by the British manufacturer, Radical Sportscars. The company was founded by Mick Hyde and Phil Abbott in 1997. The early vehicles were road legal but were more popular as race cars. The Radicals used in the series are the SR3 model powered by an RPE - Suzuki four-cylinder Double Overhead Camshaft engine with a displacement of 1340-cc, which produces 170-rear wheel horsepower. The chassis is a space frame design with double wishbones, coil springs, adjustable shock absorbers, and roll bars. Stopping the SR3 are four-piston calipers front and rear with vented rotors. The Radicals use cast aluminum wheels fitted with 200/580/R15 tires on the front and 265/605/R16 on the rear.

Introduced last season was the Masters category for drivers 40-year of age and older. The class has a separate Masters championship.

The Emzone Radical Cup Canada opening rounds were held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park during the Castrol Victoria Day Speedfest. Drivers competed in two contests around the ten-turn 2.459-mile road course.

The start of round two for the 2025 FEL Emzone Radical Cup at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The leaders heading into corner one are the No. 55 RySpec Racing-prepared Radical SR3 XX of Cayden Goodridge and Brady Clapham, driving the No. 77 Emzone Radical SR3 XX. Behind the top two are the No. 7 Auto Eclectic Motorsports Radical SR3 XX of Tyson Balbosa and Francesco Esposito driving the No. 12 Pacific Paving Radical SR3 XX.
Brady Clapham drives the No. 77 Emzone Radical SR3 XX. Clapham completed in last season's championship and finished fifth in the standings.  In qualifying for the opening round, Clapham qualified third, 0.099 seconds behind the pole-sitter, Cayden Goodridge. On a wet track, he was able to secure the lead and victory. Clapham started second on Sunday, and despite early pressure from Goodridge, he earned his second victory of the event.
Joining the FEL Emzone Radical Cup this year is Cayden Goodridge. Last year, Goodridge contested the FEL Sports Car Championship Canada, driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. In 2025, he is racing the No. 55 RySpec Racing-prepared Radical SR3 XX. Goodridge qualified on the pole for Saturday's contest but could not hold off Brady Clapham and finished in the runner-up spot. In the finale, he was gridded first but lost the lead and win to Clapham.
Last year's FEL Emzone Radical Cup champion was Kenny Riedmann. This season, his focus has shifted to coaching for TWOth Autosport. On Saturday, Riedman drove the No. 42 Summit Wrap Studio Radical SR3 XX and finished fourth after qualifying fifth. The next day, he drove the No. 22 Screaming Goat Films Radical SR3 XX, which Max Haverkate had driven on Saturday. Riedman started last and charged to a third-place finish.
One of the many newcomers to join this season's FEL Emzone Radical Cup is American Jake Latham. Latham, who competes in the Master's category, drives the No. 5 Automobiles Etcetera Radical SR3 XX. He qualified tenth overall and third in class for race one. While his competitors were hindered by the damp conditions, Latham excelled, finishing fifth overall and first in the Masters category. He ended the weekend with a second in class.
Returning from last season is John Painter in the No. 9 RooSpeed Racing Radical SR3 XX. In 2024, Painter finished eighth in the championship. This year, he joined the Master's division. He began his 2025 campaign by qualifying sixth overall and first in class. In the race, Painter slid, of course, on lap 1 and retired. On Sunday, he made a poor start and dropped down the race order. Painter charged through the field and won the class, finishing sixth overall.
