2025 marks the eleventh season of the very successful United Racing Series.

The 2025 APC United Late Model championship kicks off on the Victoria Day weekend at Sunset Speedway with a race called the Dayco 100. In early June, the teams make the first of two stops at Flamboro Speedway. In the middle of June, the Spectra Premium 100 is held at Peterborough Speedway. On the Canada Day weekend, drivers compete at Delaware Speedway in the AC Delco 100. The next race sees the championship make its final appearance at Flamboro Speedway for the London Recreational Racing 100. The Mid-Summer Classic 100 is conducted in early August at Sauble Speedway. Teams return to Sauble for round seven, called the Stewarts & Kubota 100. The penultimate event of 2025 is at Sunset Speedway during the Labour Day Weekend. Titles are determined on September 27 at Delaware Speedway during the Castrol Great Canadian 300.

The series rules remain unchanged from last season, with the cars constructed to specifications and controls common to most stock car series. The chassis is a tube frame covered with fiberglass bodies. Depending on the engine choice, a car can weigh as much as 2800 lbs. Crate motors from General Motors (GM 604 & GM 602) and Ford (347) are used in the series. Competitors use a spec tire from American Racer and Bilstein A2 shock absorbers to regulate expenses. There are also rules restricting the options for transmissions, ignition components, body material, brakes, etc.

To determine the starting order of the race, drivers participate in a qualifying session. The five fastest qualifiers selected starting positions one through five during a random draw. Before each race, the cars receive a technical inspection and are impounded until the start of the event.

A new restart procedure was introduced in 2023 by series officials for the APC United Late Model and Dayco Super Stock divisions called the 'choose rule.' On restarts, competitors are allowed to choose their lane. Their selection may be determined by the condition of the track, how many cars are ahead of them, or the handling of their vehicle. If a driver changes their choice after the designated 'choose spot,' they must start from the rear of the field.

The NTN BCA Bearings Triple Crown is returning for this season. The three marquee events are held June 7 at Flamboro Speedway, August 30 at Sunset Speedway, and September 27 at Delaware Speedway. The three-race mini-series has a prize fund of $15,000. First place pays $3,500, second $2,500, third $2,000, and fourth through tenth $1,000.

Round three of the 2025 APC United Late Model Championship was held at ‘Canada’s Toughest 1/3 Mile’, Peterborough Speedway. Drivers competed in the Spectra Premium 100, a one-hundred-lap contest around the 1/3-mile asphalt oval.

The pace lap for the Spectra Premium 100 at Peterborough Speedway. On the pole is the No. 19 Domus Developments Chevrolet Camaro of Connor Pritiko. Beside Pritiko is the series 2020 champion, Jo Lawrence, driving the No. 78 Elite Property Group Chevrolet Camaro. Row two is occupied by the fastest qualifier, Jake Sheridan, in the No. 52 Vibrent Farms Ford Mustang and the No. 83 Shaw Motorsports Chevrolet SS is driven by Dale Shaw.
Jake Sheridan opened the season with victories in non-championship races at Sunset and Flamboro Speedways. On Saturday evening, at Peterborough Speedway, he grabbed his first APC win of the year. Sheridan started fourth after recording the fastest time in qualifying. On lap 38, he moved past the leader, Connor Pritiko. On the way to the checkered flag, Sheridan was challenged by a power steering issue and pressure from Dale Shaw.
Dale Shaw, the 2015 APC United Late Model Champion, is off to a strong start. The driver of the No. 83 Shaw Motorsports Chevrolet has a 2025 record that includes second and sixth-place results. In round three, Shaw added another runner-up result. He was sixth fastest during the time trials and gridded fourth for the 100-lap contest. In the second half of the race, Shaw moved up the order. He chased Sheridan and finished second by 0.604 seconds.
Ray Morneau joined the series full-time in 2024 and finished sixth in the points chase. His 2025 campaign got off to a terrible start. Morneau’s No. 30 LIUNA! J-AAR Ford Fusion lost an engine in practice and despite the team’s best efforts, he was unable to start round one. Morneau qualified and started seventh at Peterborough. By the race’s midpoint, he was in third place and passed Ryan Kimball but could not hold off Dale Shaw and finished third.
Last year, it was Peterborough Speedway regular Dan McHattie who impressed series regulars by grabbing the win. This season, the honour went to Ryan Kimball. Kimball pilots the No. 16 LIUNA! sponsored Toyota Camry and competes weekly at Peterborough. In the time trials, he was the fifth-quickest and started the race in sixth place. During the contest, Kimball ran as high as second but was passed by Dale Shaw and Ray Morneau to finish fourth.
The points leader after two rounds is Josh Stade, who has a victory and fourth-place results. Driving the No. 17 Canada Clean Fuels Toyota Camry, Stade was second fastest during the qualifying session but, after the redraw, was gridded in the fifth position. By the three-quarter mark of the contest, he was in fifth place and held the spot to the finish. Stade leaves Peterborough as the points leader but is just three markers ahead of Jake Sheridan.
Connor Pritiko is another driver who committed to the full schedule last year and finished eighth in the championship, with a victory in the finale at Delaware Speedway. Pritiko drives the No. 19 Domus Developments Chevrolet Camaro. In the last round, at Flamboro Speedway, he encountered issues and finished eighteenth. At Peterborough, he qualified fourth fastest and started on the pole. Unable to match the pace of the leaders, Pritiko finished in sixth place.
The top three finishers for round three of the 2025 APC United Late Model Championship at Peterborough Speedway. In the center is the winner, Jake Sheridan. This was Sheridan’s third series victory, and the result moves him to within three markers of the points leader, Josh Stade. On the left is Dale Shaw, who placed second. This is Shaw’s second runner-up finish of the season. The final spot is occupied by Ray Morneau.
