2025 marks the eleventh season of the very successful United Racing Series.

The 2025 APC United Late Model championship kicks off on the Victoria Day weekend at Sunset Speedway with a race called the Dayco 100. In early June, the teams make the first of two stops at Flamboro Speedway. In the middle of June, the Spectra Premium 100 is held at Peterborough Speedway. On the Canada Day weekend, drivers compete at Delaware Speedway in the AC Delco 100. The next race sees the championship make its final appearance at Flamboro Speedway for the London Recreational Racing 100. The Mid-Summer Classic 100 is conducted in early August at Sauble Speedway. Teams return to Sauble for round seven, called the Stewarts & Kubota 100. The penultimate event of 2025 is at Sunset Speedway during the Labour Day Weekend. Titles are determined on September 27 at Delaware Speedway during the Castrol Great Canadian 300.

The series rules remain unchanged from last season, with the cars constructed to specifications and controls common to most stock car series. The chassis is a tube frame covered with fiberglass bodies. Depending on the engine choice, a car can weigh as much as 2800 lbs. Crate motors from General Motors (GM 604 & GM 602) and Ford (347) are used in the series. Competitors use a spec tire from American Racer and Bilstein A2 shock absorbers to regulate expenses. There are also rules restricting the options for transmissions, ignition components, body material, brakes, etc.

To determine the starting order of the race, drivers participate in a qualifying session. The five fastest qualifiers selected starting positions one through five during a random draw. Before each race, the cars receive a technical inspection and are impounded until the start of the event.

A new restart procedure was introduced in 2023 by series officials for the APC United Late Model and Dayco Super Stock divisions called the 'choose rule.' On restarts, competitors are allowed to choose their lane. Their selection may be determined by the condition of the track, how many cars are ahead of them, or the handling of their vehicle. If a driver changes their choice after the designated 'choose spot,' they must start from the rear of the field.

The NTN BCA Bearings Triple Crown is returning for this season. The three marquee events are held June 7 at Flamboro Speedway, August 30 at Sunset Speedway, and September 27 at Delaware Speedway. The three-race mini-series has a prize fund of $15,000. First place pays $3,500, second $2,500, third $2,000, and fourth through tenth $1,000.

Round two of the 2025 APC United Late Model championship was held at Flamboro Speedway. The Grisdale Racing Products 150 was also the first race in the NTN BCA Bearings Triple Crown. Drivers would compete in a 150-lap contest around the 0.333-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

The front row for round two of the 2025 APC United Late Model series and the first race in the NTN BCA Bearings Triple Crown at Flamboro Speedway. After the redraw, Cole Quinton, in the No. 18 Spira Chevrolet SS, started on the pole. Quinton was gridded second in race one at Sunset Speedway. Unfortunately, the excellent qualifying position at both events didn’t translate to the final results. Beside Quinton is Kyle Steckly.
A NASCAR Canada commitment prevented the reigning champion, Kyle Steckly, from participating in the qualifying session at Sunset Speedway. Steckly struggled in the race after contact and finished fifteenth. At Flamboro, the driver of the No. 22 APC Auto Parts Centres Ford Mustang was better prepared and started the race on the outside of the front row. He was in first place before the mid-race break and pulled away from the field for the victory.
Finishing in the runner-up position was Shae Gemmell. Gemmell is always quick at Flamboro, having won the July APC events in 2023 and 2024. His racing resume also includes the track’s 2024 Grisdale Triple Crown.  Challenges in qualifying relegated Gemmell to the twelfth starting position in the No. 3 APC Auto Parts Centres Chevrolet SS. By the halfway point, he was fifth but passed Jake Sheridan, Shawn Chenoweth and Treyten Lapcevich to finish second.
Jake Sheridan had a successful reconnaissance mission earlier in the season at Flamboro Speedway when he was victorious in the Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Model event. The team put what they learned to good use, allowing Sheridan to be the fastest qualifier. He was gridded third in the No. 52 Vibrent Farms Ford Mustang and led early. However, there was no catching Kyle Steckly or Shae Gemmell, and he finished in third place.
Josh Stade is the series points leader after winning round one of the championship at Sunset Speedway. Like Jake Sheridan, Stade made a preseason visit to Flamboro’s Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Model event and finished second. He was gridded sixth for the Grisdale Racing Products 150 in the No. 17 Canada Clean Fuels Toyota Camry. Throughout the race, Stade was in contention and finished fourth, but more importantly, he retained the points lead.
Shawn Chenoweth’s Outlaw Super Late Model and Super Stock programs have been strong the last couple of seasons. However, the driver of the No. 89C LLR Chevrolet SS has struggled in the Late Model competition. During the off-season, Chenoweth purchased one of Team 22 Racing’s Late Models, and he has had immediate success. He finished third in race one and was fifth in round two. Chenoweth is tied for second in the points chase.
Another driver enjoying success in the opening rounds of the series is the 2015 APC United Late Model champion, Dale Shaw. Shaw pilots the No. 83 Shaw Motorsports prepared Chevrolet SS. He was gridded in the ninth position for the Grisdale Racing Products 150 and was eighth at the mid-race caution. In the second half of the contest, Shaw advanced two positions to finish in sixth place. Combined with his second-place result at Sunset, Shaw is fourth in the standings.
The top three finishers for round two of the series and the first race in the NTN BCA Bearings Triple Crown. In the center is the winner from Team 22 Racing, Kyle Steckly. Steckly, a two-time champion, has nine APC United Late Model victories, with four of them earned at Flamboro Speedway. Standing on the right is the runner-up, Shae Gemmell, who has two APC victories at Flamboro. The final spot is occupied by Jake Sheridan.
