In 2020, arrangements were made for the popular Super Stock division to compete as a support event at three APC United Late Model Series rounds. Contests were conducted at Sauble Speedway and Sunset Speedway, with the finale at Jukasa Motor Speedway. In 2021, the class received backing from Qwick Wick Fire Starters for the inaugural five-race championship. This year Dayco Belts and Hoses has replace Qwick Wick as the series primary sponsor.

There are five Dayco Super Stock Series events this season.

  • Saturday, June 15 - Peterborough Speedway
  • Friday, June 28 - Delaware Speedway
  • Saturday, July 13 - Flamboro Speedway
  • Saturday, August 10 - Sunset Speedway
  • Friday, September 6 - Delaware Speedway

The Super Stock category includes a variety of makes and models from the ‘60s to the current year. The rules used in the class allow some suspension modifications and changes to the bodies. Some Super Stock cars retain the original steel bodies with plastic noses and fiberglass hoods; however, most use fiberglass body panels. They are powered by a modified small-block engines or crate motors from General Motors and Ford. The division serves as a ‘stepping stone’ for those drivers who aspire to compete in the Pro Late Model category.

A new restart procedure was introduced last year by series officials for the APC United Late Model and Dayco Super Stock divisions called the 'choose rule.' On restarts, competitors are allowed to choose their lane. Their selection may be determined by the condition of the track, how many cars are ahead of them or the handling of their vehicle. If a driver changes their choice after the designated 'choose spot,' they must start from the rear of the field.

The 2024 Dayco Super Stock Series opening round was held at Peterborough Speedway, 'Canada's Toughest 1/3 Mile'. The Dayco 50 was a fifty-lap contest around the 1/3-mile asphalt oval.

The season opener for the Dayco Super Stock series and fifteen competitors line up on Peterborough Speedway's front straight. On the pole is Anthony DiBello in the No. 16 DiBello Towing Chevrolet Camaro. Beside DiBello is the second fastest qualifier and defending race winner, Carson Nagy, driving the No. 93 Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC Chevrolet Camaro. Row two is occupied by the Ford Mustang of Lane Zardo and Miles Tyson in a Camaro.
Carson Nagy is beginning his 2024 Dayco Super Stock campaign like he started last season – with a victory. The reigning series champion and defending race winner qualified second fastest in the No. 93 Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC Chevrolet Camaro. At the start of the contest, Nagy chased the pole-sitter, Anthony DiBello. After the first restart, he jumped into first place and maintained the lead for the remainder of the race.
Shawn Chenoweth finished in the runner-up position. Chenoweth's participation in the last two Super Stock events at Peterborough Speedway has been controversial. In 2022, confusion at the end of the race while he was leading resulted in a runner-up finish. Last year, Chenoweth was in first place when he was eliminated from the contest due to contact. In round one of 2024, he started fifth and finished second.
Lane Zardo is the series 2021 champion and returned this year in the familiar No. 36Z Bester Forest Products Ford Mustang. During qualifying, he recorded the fourth fast time – just 0.140 seconds behind the pole-sitter, Anthony DiBello and started third. By lap 2, Zardo was in second but dropped to third before the first restart. However, he retook the position but could not hold the spot and was eventually passed by Shawn Chenoweth.
Former Peterborough Speedway track champion Anthony DiBello was the fastest qualifier and put the No. 16 DiBello Towing Chevrolet Camaro on the pole. Early in the contest, he held off Dayco Super Stock regulars Carson Nagy, Lane Zardo, and Shawn Chenoweth. However, after the first restart, DiBello was passed by the trio. He settled into the fourth position and held the spot to the checkered flag.
Last season at Peterborough Speedway, the reigning Super Stock track champion, Miles Tyson, used the new 'choose rule' to his advantage. Tyson started in the eleventh position in the No. 49 DJD Graphics Chevrolet Camaro but finished third. This year, Tyson started fourth in the Camaro. Before the halfway point of the race, he was passed by Shawn Chenoweth and Ryan Dyson. Tyson had contact with Dyson on lap 18, which damaged the car, but he was able to finish fifth.
The driver advancing the most positions in the Dayco 50 at Peterborough Speedway was Coltin Everingham. The No. 48 Ryan's Landscaping Inc. / Gunn's Auto Service Chevrolet Camaro driver was the eleventh fastest in the qualifying session. On his way to the front, Everingham benefitted from the retirement of Ryan Dyson but passed four other competitors to cross the finish line in the sixth position.
The top three finishers for round one of the Dayco Super Stock Series at Peterborough Speedway. In the center is the winner, Carson Nagy. Nagy was victorious in last year's season opener at Peterborough and captured the championship. On the left is the runner-up, Shawn Chenoweth. The previous year at Peterborough, Chenoweth was knocked out of contention and retired from the race. The final member of the top three is Lane Zardo.
