In 2021, FEL (Franczak Enterprises Ltd.), an automotive learning and promotion company, expanded its presence in Canadian motorsports.

FEL saw an opportunity to revitalize and reinvest in Canadian car racing. As a featured sponsor, FEL's foray into the 2017 Toyo Tires F1600 Series resulted in fields growing from twelve to fifteen entries to over thirty cars in just three years.

The company is now making its mark in the Touring and Sports Racer categories. The FEL Motorsports Sports Car Championship Canada is for vehicles prepared to GT4, TCR and TCA specifications. Various models of the purpose-built Radical SR3 sports racers compete in the FEL Cup Canada.

Three classes participate in the FEL Motorsports 2024 Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin GT4, TCR and TCA.

  • GT4 These cars are prepared to the SRO (Stephane Ratel Organisation) GT4 technical specifications. The quicker of the two groups, this class includes cars such as the Ford Mustang GT4, BMW M4 GT4, Mercedes-AMG, Audi R8 and Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Vehicles competing in this division produce between 400 - 450 horsepower and are capable of speeds over 175-mph.
  • TCR - This class is based on the global touring car category TCR. Vehicles racing in this group include the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, Honda Civic TCR, Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR and Audi RS3 LMS TCR. They use a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine which will produce between 300 350-horsepower.
  • TCA Cars competing in this group have a minimum amount of modifications. Most changes are to improve the safety of the vehicles. Using turbocharged or normally aspirated power plants, these cars produce between 160 and 185-horsepower.

There are five events and each race weekend consists of two forty-minute contests.

  • May 17-19 - Canadian Tire Motorsport
  • June 20-23 - Calabogie Motorsport Park
  • July 18-20 - Honda Indy Toronto
  • August 8-11 - Grand Prix Trois-Rivieres
  • August 30 - September 1 - Canadian Tire Motorsport

The 2024 FEL Sports Car Championship Canada made its first of two stops at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park during the Victoria Day Speedfest weekend. Two forty-minute contests were held on the ten-turn 2.459-mile road course.

The FEL Sports Car Championship Canada uses a split start for each race. The GT4 competitors receive the green flag first, followed by the TCR and TCA entries. The second wave of touring car drivers enter corner one for the opening lap of round two. At the front of the pack is Saturday's winner, Richard Boake, in the No. 84 Betz Pools Audi RS3 LMS. Behind Boake is last season's TCR champion, Dean Baker, driving the No. 52 A2Z Automobiles Audi RS3 LMS.
The reigning FEL Sports Car Championship Canada GT4 title holder is Jack Polito. Polito debuted the new No. 22 Polito Ford Lincoln Ford Mustang built by Multimatic. He qualified second fastest overall for race one but earned the class pole. Polito pulled away from the competition and went flag-to-flag for the victory. The next day, he was challenged by the No. 77 Porsche 718 Cayman of Cayden Goodridge but prevailed for another win.
Another driver standing on the podium's top step after each round was TCR competitor Richard Boake. Boake, who drives the No. 84 Betz Pools Audi RS3 LMS, was last year's series runner-up. He began his 2024 campaign by qualifying on the pole but lost the class lead to last season's champion, Dean Baker, on lap 1. Baker slowed mid-race, and Boake grabbed the lead and won. In race two, he led from start to finish.
Eric Kunz joined last season's new TCA category and finished second in the final standings. He returned in 2024 driving the familiar No. 25 Honda Civic Si. Kunz qualified thirteenth overall and first in class for Saturday's contest. He went unchallenged and collected the category honours by a comfortable margin. The finale was a repeat of the previous day, with Kunz starting thirteenth and earning his fifth TCA series victory.
TCR Rookie Anthony Martella tested the No. 95 NIN Transport Audi RS3 LMS two weeks earlier at the BEMC Spring Trophy Races. The additional track time paid off for the fifteen-year-old rookie as he qualified third for Saturday's contest. Unfortunately, a technical infraction was discovered after qualifying, moving him to the rear of the grid. Martella charged through the field and earned a runner-up result. The next day, he finished third.
Dean Baker joined the FEL Sports Car Championship Canada series in 2022 and was last year's TCR champion. Baker returned in the No. 52 A2Z Automobiles Audi RS3 LMS this season and qualified second in class for round one. On the opening lap, he passed the pole-sitter, Richard Boake, for the lead. However, Baker hit the tire wall late in the contest and would retire. On Sunday, he chased Boake to a second-place result.
