Now in its thirty-fourth year, the Ontario Stock Car Association of Asphalt Racers (OSCAAR) is responsible for sanctioning two divisions: Modified and Hot Rod.

On November 1, 2022, it was announced that OSCAAR had merged with the United Racing Series. The relationship increases OSCAAR's resources and allows the United Racing Series to expand its brand and footprint in motorsports.

The Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series, which receives backing from Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC, draws many competitors and features exciting races.

There are twelve races on the 2024 OSCAAR Modified schedule.

  • May 18 - Sunset Speedway
  • June 1 - Flamboro Speedway
  • June 15 - Sauble Speedway
  • June 28 - Delaware Speedway
  • June 29 - Delaware Speedway
  • July 13 - Full Throttle Motor Speedway
  • August 3 - Peterborough Speedway
  • August 17 - Sauble Speedway - (cancelled due to the weather)
  • August 24 - Sunset Speedway
  • September 7 - Delaware Speedway
  • October 5 - Flamboro Speedway
  • October 12 - Peterborough Speedway

The cars competing in this class are purpose-built open-wheel vehicles. The Modifieds use a steel tube frame chassis, which is no less than 1-3/4-inch outside diameter with 0.095-inch wall thickness. Bodies are made of sheet metal, with the driver’s compartment and engine bay covered. The cars may be any make or model, but they tend to have little to no resemblance to their road-going counterparts.

The engine option selected by the car owner determines the weight of the vehicle. A Modified using 350-horsepower Crate Engine is the lightest at 2,600 pounds and 2,775 pounds is required for a car powered by a Built Motor. Weight may be added or removed depending on the choice of transmission.

Many of the other rules governing the OSCAAR Modified class are for driver safety and to keep costs down.

The 31st Annual APC Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway would conclude the 2024 Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series. Drivers competed in a fifty-lap feature around ‘Canada’s Toughest 1/3 Mile.’

Eleven Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series competitors round Peterborough Speedway’s third and fourth turns in anticipation of the Starter’s flag. The No. 69 The Fyre Pace sponsored Modified of Wally Wilson is on the pole. Sharing the front row with Wilson is Steve Trendell in the No. 46 Allstar Performance Modified.  Immediately behind the leaders are the cars of the third and four-place starters, Jason Keen and T.J. Edwards.
The No. 34 Green Plumbing / GAF Modified driver has amassed an impressive record this season. T.J. Edwards concluded 2024 with eleven heat victories and five feature wins. At the 31st Annual APC Autumn Colours Classic, Edwards captured first place in both of his qualifiers. He was gridded in the fourth position for the fifty-lap feature and collected the victory. After two consecutive years of finishing in the runner-up spot, Edwards captured the championship.
Rick Spencer-Walt has been driving a couple of different race cars this season. At Peterborough Speedway’s 31st Annual APC Autumn Colours Classic, he competed in the OSCAAR Hot Rod and Modified divisions. Spencer-Walt drove the No. 99 Neviss Electrical Systems Modified. He also piloted this car on three other occasions and won at Sunset Speedway. During the final weekend, he finished second and third in the heats and was the runner-up in the feature.
Wally Wilson had reason to be optimistic heading into the finale at Peterborough Speedway. He scored his first tour victory at the track in August. In addition to his No. 69 The Fyre Place sponsored Modified, Wilson brought his backup car for Coltin Everingham. He finished third in his first heat and second in the next qualifier.  Wilson lined up on the pole for the feature. He led early in the race but could not hold off T.J. Edwards and Rick Spencer-Walt and finished third.
Steve Trendell made his Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series debut in 2021. This year is his first full season of the tour. Trendell’s better result in 2024 was in round three of the doubleheader weekend at Delaware Speedway when he finished in the runner-up position. Trendell drove the No. 46 Allstar Performance Modified to fourth place in heat one and won the second qualifier. He finished fourth in the feature and third in the championship standings.
The top three finishers for the final round of the 2024 Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series at Peterborough Speedway during the track’s 31st Annual APC Autumn Colours Classic.
