Now in its thirty-fourth year, the Ontario Stock Car Association of Asphalt Racers (OSCAAR) is responsible for sanctioning two divisions: Modified and Hot Rod.

On November 1, 2022, it was announced that OSCAAR had merged with the United Racing Series. The relationship increases OSCAAR's resources and allows the United Racing Series to expand its brand and footprint in motorsports.

The Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series, which receives backing from Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC, draws many competitors and features exciting races.

There are twelve races on the 2024 OSCAAR Modified schedule.

  • May 18 - Sunset Speedway
  • June 1 - Flamboro Speedway
  • June 15 - Sauble Speedway
  • June 28 - Delaware Speedway
  • June 29 - Delaware Speedway
  • July 13 - Full Throttle Motor Speedway
  • August 3 - Peterborough Speedway
  • August 17 - Sauble Speedway - (cancelled due to the weather)
  • August 24 - Sunset Speedway
  • September 7 - Delaware Speedway
  • October 5 - Flamboro Speedway
  • October 12 - Peterborough Speedway

The cars competing in this class are purpose-built open-wheel vehicles. The Modifieds use a steel tube frame chassis, which is no less than 1-3/4-inch outside diameter with 0.095-inch wall thickness. Bodies are made of sheet metal, with the driver’s compartment and engine bay covered. The cars may be any make or model, but they tend to have little to no resemblance to their road-going counterparts.

The engine option selected by the car owner determines the weight of the vehicle. A Modified using 350-horsepower Crate Engine is the lightest at 2,600 pounds and 2,775 pounds is required for a car powered by a Built Motor. Weight may be added or removed depending on the choice of transmission.

Many of the other rules governing the OSCAAR Modified class are for driver safety and to keep costs down.

The penultimate round of the 2024 Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series was held during Flamboro Speedway's Frostoberfest weekend. Modified drivers competed in a forty-lap contest around the 1/3-mile semi-banked oval.

Thirteen Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series drivers line up on Flamboro Speedway's back straight for the championship's penultimate round. The No. 46 Allstar Performance sponsored Modified of Steve Trendell is on the pole.   Jason Keen is sharing the front row with Trendell, driving the No. 18 Oakville Auto and Diesel Modified. Behind the leaders are the No. 34 Green Plumbing Modified of T.J. Edwards and A.J. Emms in the No. 14 BAE Modified.
After ten rounds, the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series points leader is T.J. Edwards. At this point in the season, Edwards has collected nine heat wins and nine feature victories. However, with two races remaining, the championship was still at risk. To help his cause, he entered a second car driven by Jade Franklin. Edwards finished second in his heat races and started the feature in third place. He crossed the finish line first and padded his points lead.
Jade Franklin won his first career Pro Late Model feature win at Flamboro during Frostoberfest, but he currently competes in the Ontario Legend Car Series. T.J. Edwards made his backup car, the No. 2 Candu Homes / Young's Home Hardware Modified, available to Franklin. Franklin finished third in his first qualifying race and won the second.  He was gridded sixth for the feature and finished second, which aided Edwards' cause.
Jason Keen is chasing T.J. Edwards for the championship. Keen is the reigning Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified Series champion and won last year's title by ten points over Edwards. Keen, who drives that No. 18 Oakville Auto and Diesel Modified, has one feature victory in 2024. His consistency paid off at Flamboro with a pair of runner-up finishes in the heats. Keen was third in the finale and sits thirty markers behind Edwards with one race remaining.
Series regular Steve Trendell is currently third in the standings – forty-three points behind the championship leader, T.J. Edwards, and thirteen markers shy of second place, Jason Keen. At Flamboro Speedway, Trendell, driving the No. 46 Allstar Performance sponsored Modified, won heat race two and was fourth in the third qualifier.   He started the feature on the pole and crossed the finish line after forty laps in fourth place.

In the center is the winner and current championship leader, T.J. Edwards. On the left is Jade Franklin, who drove Edwards' backup car and helped him pad his points lead with his result. The final position is occupied by the third-place finisher, Jason Keen. Keen is Edwards' main rival for the title.
