In 2014, the FIA introduced the Formula 4 concept globally to bridge the gap between karting and open-wheel racing. The Sports Car Club of America created the Formula 4 United States Championship in 2016. The series has grown rapidly in popularity due to its affordability and competitiveness.

In 2024, the series transitioned to the new Ligier JS F422 chassis and Ligier Storm power, rendering the previous model obsolete.

The Formula 4 United States Championship is part of a ladder system. The winner of the Driver's Championship will receive a scholarship to compete in the 2025 FR Americas series. Also included is the lease of an engine and Ligier JS F3 chassis from Ligier Automotive. There are also awards for the second and third-place finishers in the title chase. Finally, the series provides cash payouts and prizes at each race.

The series includes an impressive alumni list, including Kyle Kirkwood, David Malukus, Benjamin Peterson, Ernie Francis Jr., and Linus Lundqvist.

The 2024 Formula 4 United States Championship consists of five weekends, with three races at each venue.

  • May 16-19 – Road America
  • June 20-23 – Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
  • July 25-28 – New Jersey Motorsports Park
  • August 29 - September 1 – Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
  • October 31 - November 3 – Circuit of the Americas

Rounds four, five and six of the 2024 Formula 4 United States Championship were scheduled for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Drivers would compete in three contests around the thirteen-turn 2.258-mile road course.

Unfortunately, heavy rain on Sunday morning flooded the track, and the first race of the morning was canceled. During the weekend, drivers would only compete in two rounds.

He started on the pole in the finale but was passed by Quimby and finished second.
The second Australian in the field is Alex Quimby, who drives the No. 24 Cruise America / MIR Raceline / FIJI Airways Ligier JS F422. In the weekend's second race, Quimby succeeded in getting by Stati for the victory.
Alex Crosbie is campaigning the No. 41 Ligier JS F422 prepared by Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport in this year's Formula 4 United States Championship. Pablo Benites Jr. grabbed his first 2024 Formula 4 United States Championship victory in round three at Road America. Benites Jr. was fourth fastest during the qualifying session for round four.
