The cars competing in the NASCAR Canada Series are constructed to specifications and rules common to most stock car series. The chassis is a steel tube frame design covered with a fiberglass body and must weigh no less than 3050 lbs. Body styles are from manufacturers such as Dodge (Challenger), Ford (Mustang) and Chevrolet (Camaro). Engine type and displacement are dictated by the make and model of the vehicle. The carbureted eight-cylinder motors produce approximately 550 horsepower. Cars are estimated to have a top speed of 160 mph, depending on the gearing.

Rounds ten and eleven of the 2025 NASCAR Canada Series were at Delaware Speedway. The track hosted the APC 125 and NTN/BCA 125. Round ten was a 125-lap contest around the track’s half-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

The initial 2025 NASCAR Canada schedule listed Delaware as the penultimate event on the calendar. However, a rainout led to the cancellation of round three at Sunset Speedway. As a result, series officials added a second race to Delaware.

Fourteen NASCAR Canada drivers head into corner one at Delaware Speedway for the APC 125. Leading the field is the local favourite and pole-sitter, DJ Kennington, in the No. 17 Castrol Edge / CIM Metals Dodge Challenger. Behind Kennington is the other front row starter, Donald Theetge, driving the No. 80 Garoy Construction Chevrolet Camaro. Immediately behind Kennington is the points leader, Marc-Antoine Camirand in the No. 96 Chevrolet Camaro. 80
Donald Theetge and Alex Tagliani have been sharing resources with Tagliani competing on the round courses, and Theetge focused on the ovals. It has been an ‘up and down’ season for the driver of the No. 80 Garoy Construction Chevrolet Camaro. He’s had two runner-up results but two DNFs as well. At Delaware, Theetge qualified second but spun on lap 5. He charged through the field, and on lap 113, Theetge caught and passed the leader, DJ Kennington, for the win.
DJ Kennington began his racing career at Delaware Speedway in 1993. With all the miles he has accumulated around the track, it was no surprise that Kennington qualified on the pole.  At the drop of the green, the No. 17 Castrol Edge/CIM Metals Dodge Challenger jumped into the lead. He faced pressure from Donald Theetge until Theetge spun on lap 5. Kennington led until lap 113, when Theetge grabbed the lead and victory. Kennington was second by 0.537 seconds.
Kevin Lacroix is usually a title contender.  The highlight of his season was a win at Saskatoon, but for most of the year, the team has struggled.  However, there was reason to be optimistic at Delaware Speedway as he was victorious in last year’s event. Lacroix put the No. 74 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro fifth on the starting grid. During the race, he passed Marc-Antoine Camirand and Connor Pritiko to finish in the third position.
Three-time NASCAR Canada Series Champion Andrew Ranger entered the Delaware Speedway event second in the points chase. He earned a win in 2021 at Delaware. During the qualifying session for the APC 125, Ranger was off the pace and started seventh in the No. 27 GM Paille Chevrolet Canada Chevrolet Camaro. However, the car was better in the race and Ranger moved up the order and crossed the finish line in fourth place.
Local racer Connor Pritiko was making his first NASCAR Canada start at Delaware Speedway. Pritiko is a regular in the APC United Late Model race series and won last year’s Great Canadian 300 at Delaware. He joined the successful EHR team, which had a win at Calabogie, for his debut. Pritiko qualified fourth, driving the No. 3 Glencoe Auto Recyclers / H&N Roofing Chevrolet Camaro. A consistent drive was rewarded with a fifth-place result.
This year’s points leader with victories at Edmonton International Raceway, Circuit ICAR and two wins at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is Marc-Antoine Camirand. Camirand hasn’t had a lot of success at Delaware Speedway, but this year he qualified third fastest in the No. 96 GM Paille Chevrolet Canada Chevrolet Camaro. During the race, he lost three places and finished sixth. But more importantly, Ranger and Kennington reduced his points lead.
Donald Theetge’s first full year of the NASCAR Canada Series was 2018. During his inaugural season, he collected a win at Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon. Since that event, there have been many top-five finishes but no victories. Theetge waited fifty-nine races to score his first-place result. Despite an early spin in round ten, he charged through the field and set the fastest lap on the way to his second career victory.
