2025 marks the eleventh season of the very successful United Racing Series.

The 2025 APC United Late Model championship kicks off on the Victoria Day weekend at Sunset Speedway with a race called the Dayco 100. In early June, the teams make the first of two stops at Flamboro Speedway. In the middle of June, the Spectra Premium 100 is held at Peterborough Speedway. On the Canada Day weekend, drivers compete at Delaware Speedway in the AC Delco 100. The next race sees the championship make its final appearance at Flamboro Speedway for the London Recreational Racing 100. The Mid-Summer Classic 100 is conducted in early August at Sauble Speedway. Teams return to Sauble for round seven, called the Stewarts & Kubota 100. The penultimate event of 2025 is at Sunset Speedway during the Labour Day Weekend. Titles are determined on September 27 at Delaware Speedway during the Castrol Great Canadian 300.

The series rules remain unchanged from last season, with the cars constructed to specifications and controls common to most stock car series. The chassis is a tube frame covered with fiberglass bodies. Depending on the engine choice, a car can weigh as much as 2800 lbs. Crate motors from General Motors (GM 604 & GM 602) and Ford (347) are used in the series. Competitors use a spec tire from American Racer and Bilstein A2 shock absorbers to regulate expenses. There are also rules restricting the options for transmissions, ignition components, body material, brakes, etc.

To determine the starting order of the race, drivers participate in a qualifying session. The five fastest qualifiers selected starting positions one through five during a random draw. Before each race, the cars receive a technical inspection and are impounded until the start of the event.

A new restart procedure was introduced in 2023 by series officials for the APC United Late Model and Dayco Super Stock divisions called the 'choose rule.' On restarts, competitors are allowed to choose their lane. Their selection may be determined by the condition of the track, how many cars are ahead of them, or the handling of their vehicle. If a driver changes their choice after the designated 'choose spot,' they must start from the rear of the field.

The NTN BCA Bearings Triple Crown is returning for this season. The three marquee events are held June 7 at Flamboro Speedway, August 30 at Sunset Speedway, and September 27 at Delaware Speedway. The three-race mini-series has a prize fund of $15,000. First place pays $3,500, second $2,500, third $2,000, and fourth through tenth $1,000.

Sunset Speedway hosted round eight of the 2025 APC United Late Model Series. The event was the second race in the NTN BCA Bearings Triple Crown. Drivers competed in the Stewart's and Kubota 150 around Sunset's 1/3-mile asphalt banked oval.

Twenty APC United Late Model competitors exit Sunset Speedway's corner two for round eight of the championship. Pacing the field of twenty starters is Jo Lawrence in the No. 78 Elite Property Group Chevrolet Camaro. Beside Lawrence is the No. 89C London Recreational Racing Chevrolet SS driven by Shawn Chenoweth. Immediately behind the front row are Shae Gemmel in the No. 3 Chevrolet SS and the No. 52 Ford Mustang driven by Jake Sheridan.
A poor result in the previous round at Sauble Speedway left Sheridan fourth in the points chase. However, he redeemed himself at Sunset with a dominant qualifying performance in the No. 52 Vibrent Farms Ford Mustang. The redraw placed Sheridan fourth on the starting grid. He moved into the lead in the last third of the contest only to lose the spot to Kyle Steckly. He bumped Steckly on the final lap for the lead and victory.
The series two-time champion, Kyle Steckly, has been fighting an uphill battle since round one, when he finished fifteenth. However, with three victories this year, he has moved into contention and is second in the standings. A scheduling conflict with the NASCAR Canada event caused him to miss qualifying. Steckly started last, but moved into the lead on lap 145. On the final circuit, Jake Sheridan bumped him out of the top spot for a second-place result.
Josh Stade was a good bet for the victory at Sunset Speedway. Stade has visited the track three times this year and been victorious each time. The championship leader qualified seventh fastest in the No. 17 Canadian Flat Roof Systems Toyota Camry and was gridded fifth for Stewart's and Kubota 150. He was in contention all evening and crossed the finish line in third place. However, with one race remaining, his points lead has shrunk to four markers.
The first half of the race belonged to Shae Gemmel and Shawn Chenoweth. The No. 3 APC Auto Parts Centres Chevrolet SS of Gemmel and Chenoweth, driving the No. 89C London Recreation Racing Chevrolet SS, traded the top spot during the first seventy-five laps. However, during the second half of the contest, they slid down the order, with Chenoweth finishing seventh and Gemmel taking the checkered flag in fourth place.
Round one of the 2025 APC United Late Model Series at Sunset Speedway was a disaster for Ray Morneau. Despite the team's best efforts, an engine issue could not be repaired for the race. However, the situation was much better when the series returned in August. Morneau was ninth quickest during the time trials and gridded eighth for the race. He would take the No. 30 LIUNA! / J-AAR Ford Fusion to a fifth-place finish.
Before round seven at Sauble Speedway, it had been nine years since the series' 2015 champion, Dale Shaw, won a race. The victory at Sauble moved him into contention for this year's title. Shaw is a regular at Sunset Speedway and won the track's most recent Pro Late Model event. With these latest results, he was primed to collect another victory. Shaw lined up ninth for the start, but was never a factor in the race and finished in tenth position.
The top three finishers for round eight of the 2025 APC United Late Model Series at Sunset Speedway. In the center is the winner, Jake Sheridan. This was Sheridan's second victory of the season and moves him to within ten markers of the championship leader, Josh Stade. On the left is the runner-up, Kyle Steckly, who is now within four points of Stade with one event left. Completing the top three is Stade.
