In 2020, arrangements were made for the popular Super Stock division to compete as a support event at three APC United Late Model Series rounds. Contests were conducted at Sauble Speedway and Sunset Speedway, with the finale at Jukasa Motor Speedway. In 2021, the class received backing from Qwick Wick Fire Starters for the inaugural five-race championship.

There are five Qwick Wick Super Stock Series events this season.

  • Saturday, June 17 - Peterborough Speedway
  • Friday, June 30 - Delaware Speedway
  • Saturday, July 15 - Flamboro Speedway
  • Saturday, August 12 - Sunset Speedway
  • Friday, September 22 - Delaware Speedway

The Super Stock category includes a variety of makes and models from the ‘60s to the current year. The rules used in the class allow some suspension modifications and changes to the bodies. Some Super Stock cars retain the original steel bodies with plastic noses and fiberglass hoods; however, most use fiberglass body panels. They are powered by a modified small-block engines or crate motors from General Motors and Ford. The division serves as a ‘stepping stone’ for those drivers who aspire to compete in the Pro Late Model category.

A new restart procedure was introduced this year by series officials for the APC United Late Model and Qwick Wick Super Stock divisions called the 'choose rule.' On restarts, competitors are allowed to choose their lane. Their selection may be determined by the condition of the track, how many cars are ahead of them or the handling of their vehicle. If a driver changes their choice after the designated 'choose spot,' they must start from the rear of the field.

The 2023 Qwick Wick Super Stock Series opening round was held at 'Canada's Toughest 1/3 Mile', Peterborough Speedway, during the KOD Disposal 50 event. Drivers would compete in a fifty-lap contest around the 1/3-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

Nineteen competitors line up on Peterborough Speedway's front straight for round one of the 2023 Qwick Wick Super Stock Series. Starting on the pole after the redraw is the second-fastest qualifier, Shawn Chenoweth, in the No. 89C London Recreational Racing Chevrolet Camaro. On the outside of Chenoweth for the fifty-lap contest is the fastest driver in time trials, Anthoney DiBello piloting the No. 16 Toyota Camry.
Before the opening round of this season, Carson Nagy had one Qwick Wick Super Stock Series victory, which came at Peterborough Speedway in 2021. However, that stat would change Saturday afternoon. Nagy was third fastest in the qualifying session and gridded fifth for the fifty-lap race. Early in the contest, the driver of the No. 93 Chevrolet Camaro fell to seventh but moved up the order and grabbed the lead after the lap-36 incident for the win.
Finishing 1.876-seconds behind the winner, Carson Nagy, was the 2021 Qwick Wick series champion, Lane Zardo. Zardo qualified fourth fastest in the No. 36 Bester Forest Products Ford Mustang and started in the same position. He remained in contention during the event. The contact between Gerrit Tiemersma and Shawn Chenoweth moved him into second place. Unable to match Nagy's pace Zardo finished second.
Peterborough Speedway regular Miles Tyson drove the No. 50 DJD Graphics sponsored Chevrolet Camaro. Despite his track knowledge, he won the Super Stock race last weekend; Tyson qualified and started the KOD Disposal 50 in the eleventh position. At the drop of the green, he started his march to the front and used the choose rule to his advantage. On the final restart, Tyson moved from fifth to a third-place finish.
Gord Shepherd can often be found behind the wheel of his Late Model. However, he was driving Todd Davenport's No. 30 Elmer's Flighting Supply Chevrolet Camaro this weekend. After the two practice sessions, Shepherd recorded the eleventh fastest time. Before qualifying, the crew made some chassis adjustments and he turned the eighth fastest time in qualifying. Shepherd ran a clean race and finished fourth.
Peterborough Speedway fan favourite Marlie Owen finished third in last season's track championship. Owen was sporting new bodywork and paint scheme on the No. 21 R. Brooking Tree Service Chevrolet Camaro. Using her experience at Peterborough, she was fifth fastest in practice and qualifying. Owen started the fifty-lap contest in third, but she lost spots early. However, Owen fought back to finish seventh.
Last season at Peterborough, Shawn Chenoweth started on the pole and dominated for forty-seven laps before some confusion resulted in a runner-up finish. The No. 89C Chevrolet Camaro driver was looking for redemption at this year's event. Chenoweth started on the pole. On the lap-22 restart, while in the lead, his was spun by Gerrit Tiemersma. Damage to the car eliminated Chenoweth from the race.
The top three finishers for the 2023 Qwick Wick Super Stock Series opening round at Peterborough Speedway. In the center is the winner of the KOD Disposal 50, Carson Nagy. This was Nagy's second series victory; his first came at the same track. On the left is the 2021 Qwick Wick champion and the runner-up, Lane Zardo. Completing the top three is local racer, Miles Tyson.
