In 2021, FEL (Franczak Enterprises Ltd.), an automotive learning and promotion company, expanded its presence in Canadian motorsports.

FEL saw an opportunity to revitalize and reinvest in Canadian car racing. FEL’s foray into the 2017 Toyo Tires F1600 Series as a featured sponsor resulted in fields growing from twelve to fifteen entries to over thirty cars in just three years.

The company is now making its mark in the Touring and Sports Racer categories. The FEL Motorsports Sports Car Championship Canada is for vehicles prepared to GT4, TCR and TCA specifications. Various models of the purpose-built Radical SR3 sports racers compete in the Emzone Radical Cup Canada.

Emzone Radical Cup Canada drivers compete in three contests each race weekend.

  • May 19-21 - Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
  • July 14-16 - Honda Indy Toronto
  • August 19-20 - Calabogie Motorsport Park
  • September 1-3 - Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

The Emzone Radical Cup Canada series cars are built by the British manufacturer, Radical Sportscars. The company was founded by Mick Hyde and Phil Abbott in 1997. The early vehicles were road legal but were more popular as race cars. The Radicals used in the series are the SR3 model powered by an RPE - Suzuki four-cylinder Double Overhead Camshaft engine with a displacement of 1340-cc, which produces 170-rear wheel horsepower. The chassis is a space frame design with double wishbones, coil springs, adjustable shock absorbers, and roll bars. Stopping the SR3 are four-piston calipers front and rear with vented rotors. The Radicals use cast aluminum wheels fitted with 200/580/R15 tires on the front and 265/605/R16 on the rear.

The final three rounds of the 2023 Emzone Radical Cup Canada, presented by Michelin, were held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park during the CTMP Labour Day Sprints.

Eleven competitors line up on Canadian Tire Motorsport Park's front straight for the final race of the 2023 Emzone Radical Cup Canada season. On the pole is the winner of Saturday's events; Kenny Riedmann is the No. 42 Riedmann Management Radical SR3 XX. Beside Riedmann is the No. 9 Racing For Kids Radical SR3 RSX driven by Jake Cowden. In the second row, Cowden's teammate, Cayden Goodridge and Owen Clarke.
Kenny Riedmann has spent all year chasing Jake Cowden. Riedmann, who was second in the standings, entered the Labour Day event with a mathematical chance of winning the title, but he would need a lot of luck. Driving the No. 42 Radical SR3 XX, he won rounds ten and eleven but finished behind Cowden in the finale. Riedmann closed the points gap to within seventy-markers markers and was this season's runner-up.
Former Toyo F1600 competitor Jake Cowden had an excellent season. Cowden kicked off his 2023 campaign by sweeping the opening weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and repeated this performance at Calabogie Motorsport Park. Entering the CTMP Labour Day Sprints, he had a comfortable lead in the standings. Cowden finished second in rounds ten and eleven and won the final race, securing the title.
Super Production Challenge competitor Graydon Goodridge made his Emzone Radical Cup debut at Calabogie Motorsport Park. In his first outing, he collected two top-ten results. He drove the No. 55 RySpec Racing Radical SR3 RSX at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. In the weekend's first two contests, Goodridge finished third. Unfortunately, he retired in the final race of the season.
Owen Clarke is another Super Production Challenge driver competing in this season's Emzone Radical Cup. Clarke made his first start of the year in Toronto and won in round six. He drove the No. 70 Radical SR3 XX at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and claimed a pair of fourth-place results and ended 2023 with a third-place finish. Despite missing the first weekend, Clarke finished fourth in the final standings.
Finishing third in the 2023 Emzone Radical Cup was Gavin Sanders. Sanders drove the No. 10 Sanders Motorsport Radical SR3 RSX. He had a season of mixed results. Sanders' highlight was a pair of victories at the Honda Indy Toronto, but he also failed to collect points in two races. Entering the final weekend, Sanders was within sixteen points of second in the final standings. However, two fourth-places weren't enough to help his cause.
