After two rainouts, Flamboro Speedway held its Frostoberfest weekend for Pro Late Models, Super Late Models, Pure Stocks and Super Stocks.

The Super Stock category includes a variety of makes and models from the ‘60s to the current year. The rules used in the class allow some suspension modifications and changes to the bodies. Most Street Stock cars retain the original steel bodies with plastic noses and fiberglass hoods. They are powered by a modified small-block engines or crate motors from General Motors and Ford. The division serves as a ‘stepping stone’ for those drivers who aspire to compete in the Pro Late Model category.

The Super Stock event was initially scheduled for October 3; however, rain forced the organizers to postpone. The next available date was October 16, but a wet forecast prevented racing. The contest was held the following day.

The Super Stock race was a fifty-lap contest around the 1/3-mile semi-banked asphalt oval during Flamboro Speedway’s annual Frostoberfest.

The pace lap at Flamboro Speedway’s Frosterfest weekend for the fifty-lap Super Stock race. On the pole is the No. 12C Chevrolet Camaro of Justin Collison. On the outside of Collison is Nick Troback driving the No. 73 Alexander Glass & Door sponsored Cadillac CTS. In row two are Ethan Constable in the No. 11 Chevrolet SS and Carson Nagy driving the No. 93 Chevrolet Camaro. Eighteen competitors started the race.
The 2021 Qwick Wick Super Stock series champion, Lane Zardo, added another victory to his racing resume Sunday night at Flamboro Speedway. However, this victory didn’t come easy as he found himself involved in a three-way battle with Ethan Constable and Shawn Chenoweth. Zardo started sixth in the No. 36 Ford Mustang. On lap-47, contact between Constable and Chenoweth allowed Zardo to cruise to the win.
Roy Wilke was one of the beneficiaries of the late race incident between Ethan Constable and Shawn Chenoweth. Wilke started the Frostoberfest Super Stock event at the rear of the grid in fifteenth-place. The driver of the No. 33 Bester Forest Products sponsored Ford Mustang made his way to the front of the field and when the yellow came out on lap-47, he found himself in second and earned a runner-up result.
Qwick Wick Super Stock series competitor Carson Nagy was entered in the Frostoberfest event. Nagy was victorious in round two of the championship at Peterborough Speedway, driving the No. 93 Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC backed Chevrolet Camaro. Nagy was gridded in the fourth position for the start of the race and managed to avoid a lot of the incidents to finish in the third position.
The No. 71 Struyk Energy Systems Chevrolet Camaro was driven by Cory McAllister. McAllister was in the top-ten much of the contest after starting ninth. Mid-race, contact between Shawn Chenoweth and Carson Nagy on a restart caused an ‘accordion effect’ in corner two. Caught off-guard, McAllister ran over the back of Trevor Collver’s Chevrolet Camaro. Collver retired shortly after, but McAllister finished fourth..
Flamboro Speedway regular Justin Collison started the fifty-lap Frostoberfest Super Stock event on the pole. Unfortunately, he had to exit the race and visit the pits on the first lap. Collison returned for the restart at the tail of the field. His march back to the front began and by the halfway point of the race, he moved into the sixth position. At the checkered flag, Collison was in fifth place.
Ethan Constable also competed in the Qwick Wick Super Stock series and collected three top-five finishes during the 2021 season. Constable started the race in the third position and passed the race leader, Lane Zardo, on lap-22. He held the spot for twenty-four circuits before Zardo and Shawn Chenoweth slipped past. On the lap-47 restart, Constable hit Chenoweth and retired shortly after that.
Another Flamboro Speedway regular, Shawn Chenoweth, participated in the Pro Late Model and Super Stock contests. In the Super Stock event, he was piloting the No. 89C London Recreational Racing Chevrolet Camaro. He started fifth and found himself in a battle with Ethan Constable and Lane Zardo. Contact between Chenoweth and Constable took Chenoweth out of contention resulting in a seventh-place result.
